I've been trying to figure out a way to get music to play on my blog when you open the page. I have not been successful and in fact my music-blogging boyfriend doesn't know how to do this either. So I've decided to compile a "mix-tape" of songs...hopefully on a monthly basis. I'd like to share the music thats been amusing me plus give me more reason to explore new music. Maybe with Jack's help I can turn these into links for listening eventually. Gotta start somewhere I suppose. So without further ado, this is what my February has been sounding like:
Song - Artist
Let Go - Frou Frou
Here In Your Arms - Hellogoodbye
Smile - Lily Allen
Hi - Psapp
Yummy (ft. Pharell) - Gwen Stephani
Amazon (Diplo Mix) - M.I.A.
Breathe In - Frou Frou
Australia - The Shins
Love Me or Hate Me - Lady Sovereign
Now That You Got It - Gwen Stephani

♥ already know i'll like this mix! hope you enjoyed your stay in the lovely parklands. maybe see ya at the brandon symposium.
I should mention - Lady Sovereign likes her F-Bombs. The song is ridiculous and childish but there's a time and a place for listening to music with way too much attitude. Cheers!
Well, first you need somewhere to store your music files, like a web or ftp server, then link to that file in your blog. If you have that, then your readers can download or play the files with a right or left click on that link. This is quite simple because the files would play in whatever software (like iTunes, Windows Media Player, or WinAmp) your readers have specified for mp3 playback.
I thought you wanted some sort of player on your blog - one that would play the files simply by clicking on them. For this, you still need somewhere to store the files then insert code into your posts to link to both the player and the mp3. This would be done the same way images are linked and stored on most webpages, except once again, you need somewhere to store the mp3 and the player.
Take a look at Big Stereo and then look at the code on the page if you need an example.
Hope that helps.
Lisa, you're cute for posting a lyric warning.
Well she does say F*CK about 26 times. Maybe more.
I think I've offended my boyfriend by saying that he didn't know how to get songs online. Sorry Jack. I'll try it out.
to get the heart, type ♥ & hearts ; (but all together)
Here's a link to download a player (that looks good too).
Here's the link that tells you how to make it work.
